Brazilian singer Livia Liba grew up in São Paulo, where music-making was not just a way of life, it was her way of living life. Livia was proud to be part of the thriving São Paulo cultural scene on both the artistic and production sides.

As a member of the big band collective, Soul Shakers, interpreting the works of Bob Marley, she has performed extensively in São Paulo’s alternatives clubs including Studio SP, SESC Consolação, and Kitsch Club, as well as at private events, and in festivals including “Holi, Festival of Colors,” where she sang for an audience of more than 20,000 people. She recorded on the soundtrack of the Brazilian version of the soap opera "Chiquititas", with the well-known producer Arnaldo Sacomani. Livia also worked as a producer for the internationally-renown Radio Cultura where she interviewed important artists in Brazilian Popular Music like Tom Zé, Mallu Magalhães, Otto, Lenine and others.

Livia’s concerts recall her family’s tradition of gathering together and marking special dates with communal musical events featuring the talents of many aunts and uncles, even more guitars and a lot of singing. Now in the U.S., the musician aims to build the same feelings of community and fellowship with every event. Enchanting the public with her sweet and delicate timbre and an openness and friendliness, the graceful and bubbly singer transforms any room into a house party, audience members in friends and first-time listeners into fans.

Her repertoire celebrates and shares her roots, traversing Cartola’s immortal sambas, the poetry of artists like Vinicius de Moraes and Caetano Veloso, and the swing of Jorge Ben Jor. She also sings music by some of her favorite American artists including The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac and the icon of reggae Bob Marley.
