Soil is the foundation of food and life. This class is about growing soil, its maintenance, care and restoration. We will examine the composition and essential role of soil in the urban garden. Students learn how to test their garden’s soil for texture, compost and green manure and learn how to open up the soil to receive roots, attract organisms and develop mycorrhizae.

NOTE: It is always a good idea to verify date, time, location and other information prior to going.
