La Luz de Jesus was born in Los Angeles as the brainchild of entrepreneur and art collector Billy Shire. JUXTAPOZ Magazine called Shire "The Peggy Guggenheim of Lowbrow" and the creator of a whole new school of art in Los Angeles. Libby's Vintage Home and Garden is tucked away in the heart of the "bustling bohemia of sunset Junction in Silver Lake." Established in October of 2001 by former animation producer and artist, Libby Simon, the shop specializes in vintage indoor and outdoor items and plants, with a touch of new/recycled and vintage-like merchandise. The art openings are an ongoing series with local Los Angeles artists and subjects.
