North Hollywood’s Above the Curve Theatre Presents Dark Stories
This non-profit company is ready to fill their audience with fright

September 22, 2017, North Hollywood, CA – Above the Curve Theatre (ATC) is pleased to follow up the great success of this summer’s Vote! The Musical with Dark Stories. Dark Stories consists of four short plays that are sure to give you a scare. “We’ve been wanting to do a creepy show leading up to Halloween for a while now,” says Erica Brauer, Founder and President of ATC. “A couple of the shows are definitely out of my comfort zone, but that’s what makes this such an exciting project to produce.”

The first act consists of Wheelchair, written by Scott Mullen and directed Leland Zaitz, and two Don Nigro plays – Lurker and Barefoot in Nightgown by Candlelight, directed by Adam Fauth and Mykee Del Mundo respectively. The first act sets the tone of eeriness while you figure out from where and when the twist is coming. The second act is A Crime in the Madhouse by André De Lourde and Alfred Binet and directed by Joe Lorenzo. A Crime in the Madhouse is a Grand-Guignol play which is a French style of theatre that specialized in horror productions.

Dark Stories opens September 23 and shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights through October 15. Tickets are $15 if you order online and $20 at the door. To order your tickets to Dark Stories, go to Above the Curve's web site linked in this event post.

About Above The Curve Theatre
Founded May 2006 in Los Angeles, CA, Above the Curve Theatre Company is a women-driven, actor-derived, not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering female artists and strengthening our community.
We provide a fun and safe environment for artists to cultivate new and current talents. All members are encouraged to write, act, produce and direct, and, while our primary creative outlet is the theatre, we encourage all of our members to explore every medium of the entertainment industry. Our goal is to develop versatile artists capable of creating more dynamic work for women and tackling the most challenging roles.
While, by definition, the ensemble is a women’s organization, men are encouraged to join and audition for our productions. Together we can broaden the depth and scope of the Los Angeles theatre scene, and, in doing so, build a stronger community.
Above the Curve is proudly sponsored by Emerge Arts Projects, Inc, a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 entity.
