(October 5th – November 9th, 2019)
LOS ANGELES (Sept 16th, 2019)–PARISTEXASLA is proud to present MACRO DYNAMICS, a solo presentation of the latest body of work by Buckley opening October 5th, 2019. Executed in an array of techniques including painting, sculpture, woodcuts, and ceramics, Buckley's interdependent compositions weave bodies and narratives together. What arises is a complex social dynamism and blend of memory, symbolism, and visual philosophy. The ecosystem of figures which appear throughout her paintings is representative of a system of individuals existing together as a whole. MACRO DYNAMICS explores the delicate precarity of our humanity in a moment of individualism and extremist identity politics. Buckley’s elegant lines efficiently collapse the notions of the individual and place in its stead an elaborate dance of interconnectedness.
Join us at 7 pm on the evening of the opening where Buckley will commence an immersive dance performance in the gallery entitled BEING HUMAN BEING. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the performance as space is limited.
As part of its commitment to social impact, PARISTEXASLA will be donating 10% of the gallery’s net profit from the sale of each work to the Economic Security Project. ESP is a network committed to advancing the debate on unconditional cash and basic income in the United States. The organization was selected by Buckley and relates to integral parts of her creative process.
